Og forvrængningerne er reelle: selektionsbias (positive erfaringer deles hyppigere), forventningseffekter (ingen placebo-sammenligning), manglende doseringskontrol (renhed, virkstofindhold) og subjektiv fortolkning. Alligevel: med tilstrækkeligt mange datapunkter træder mønstre frem, der kan fungere som udgangspunkt for målrettet forskning.

- No 4-Pro-MET-specific clinical data: Every existing clinical microdosing study uses psilocybin or LSD. Extrapolating to 4-Pro-MET relies on shared receptor mechanisms, not direct evidence.
- Individual variability: Esterase enzyme activity varies up to 10x between individuals. The same 4-Pro-MET dose may produce very different levels of active 4-HO-MET from person to person.
